Desert Canyon Golf Course Staff

Welcome toTJ & student the Desert Canyon Golf Course in historic Mountain Home, ID. Mountain Home has one of the finest golf course staff’s in the Pacific Northwest that is led by our PGA Director of Golf  T.J. Gomez and our Golf Course Superintendent Jacob Olsen. Their entire staff works hard year round to ensure that everyone that comes to our course will have a great time and want to come back.

Jacob Olsen~  Superintendent

photoJacob Olsen comes to us from Saratoga, Wyoming, where he was the Golf Course Superintendent of a Resort Course.  Jake has a passion for working on Golf Courses and has ever since he started working on them when he was 15 years old.  In that time he has had the opportunity to work on some prestigious golf courses throughout the West, and attained his degree in turf grass management.

Jake moved here with his wife and three kids. The family looks forward to living here and enjoying the outdoors; camping, hiking and fishing.  Jake is excited to work on the Desert Canyon Golf Course and looks forward to meeting the local golfers.


John Bucholtz~Assistant Superintendent

John is a native of Mountain home and has been working at the Golf Course for over 14 years and has been a full-time employee for over 5. As the Assistant Superintendent, John is responsible for mowing all of the greens, t-boxes, fairways and rough areas. John is also primarily responsible for assisting the Superintendent in keeping the irrigation system functioning properly.




Jason Jetley~Head Mechanic

Jason has been working for the City of Mountain Home for over 15 years and is the Head Mechanic at the Golf Course. Jason comes to Mountain Home from Burns, OR where he has been a handyman for most of his adult life. Jason is responsible for fixing just about everything on-site at the course including golf carts, greens mowers, fairway mowers and any other on-site equipment.
